Penang chinese opera in August 2012

As usual one's a years Penang have Chinese opera show on month of August ( chinese calender month is July).I grab this optionality to shoot. This time i try to start shoot around 7:00PM,this is the best timing because most of them will start perform the make up.

This photo shoot use canon 35mm; F1.4 prime lens.. which suitable in Low light portrait activities.

A plan of back ground shown the photo simple and nice.. 

The young guy fill  little tired and sit at corner to have a rest...

Some of them doing the preparation under the stage.

Most of them will have their individual wooden box to put their own belonging.

The life of opera which work their and sleep there..a little treasure..

The seriousness during perform the make up ..

Two layer - white mask and the make up as well..

The chinese "Pou Chien Thian" mask with moon on top of the face.

A light will make the environment of life differently....

First time saw the people awarded each of the opera by cash..

Bukit tambar -play ground shoot.

After the sunrise, we have 4 people continue to this play ground shoot. The gentleman attend are Terris, Light up , ST and Me.

Ang Teng Kar- Kuan Yean temple

Today sunday, Sunrise shoot , weather so so only...we have a group of 6 people jointed the sunrise shoot. They have KH. HP, Terris, Light up, St and Me. The worst thing is my flash was run out of battery and unable to perform further shoot by using flash gun..

The lighting and subject trigger me to press on the shutter. 

 The simple daily break first being prepared..

Street photography.

Same as usual, after the break first take a shoot. Today weather no really good , going to rain soon, anyway we still continue our journey-shoot...We go to one of the small street and have resident stay over there, it have about 6 residential only..Today, 2 man in this shoot- Michael and me..

Imagine how old on this door, the paint almost cracked and start drop off. 

 The aunty tried to avoid from taking the photo nut unfortunately my shutter is faster than her motion.

 keep looking us because we are the stranger  ..

Rotan Maker in Armenian Street August 2012.

Holiday morning shoot - On the way to break-first which cross the Armenian street with Michael. I have been captured a few type of view of Uncle work on repairing the rotan antic chair. Photos for everybody share and command..

  A few small tools and fixture which DIY by uncle have been use in order to completed this rework ..

This bicycle own by uncle which used as daily transport for him. 

  

Always keep the eyes left & right to make sure the line are correct position..

About 40 years experience on this work..
