Penang Tai Su YA Festival 2012.

Penang Island Tai Su Ya Festival. This event start around 11:30PM to 12:00AM. Area is near "TAN" jetty..Penang Down Town.

This event burn in the middle of the road.

Carry the Tai Su Ya from start point to area will perform the burning.

Morning shoot at BM Tai Su Ya

This sunday morning we go to Bukit mertajam town to shoot the Tai Su Ya festival. Today is last day event. We gather all 5 friend to meet there and shoot.

 This photo was captured during the trip from Penang Island to Bukit mertajam.

Although now almost 8:30AM still good time to sleep. The make up still not remove...

Penang chinese opera in August 2012

As usual one's a years Penang have Chinese opera show on month of August ( chinese calender month is July).I grab this optionality to shoot. This time i try to start shoot around 7:00PM,this is the best timing because most of them will start perform the make up.

This photo shoot use canon 35mm; F1.4 prime lens.. which suitable in Low light portrait activities.

A plan of back ground shown the photo simple and nice.. 

The young guy fill  little tired and sit at corner to have a rest...

Some of them doing the preparation under the stage.

Most of them will have their individual wooden box to put their own belonging.

The life of opera which work their and sleep there..a little treasure..

Aunty Making Biscuit - "Kuih Ka Pek"

Below photos taken since Jul 2011. Those photos shown us that the Chinese new years biscuit also available to get it on any month of the years in Penang instead of December month (Before the Chinese New Years). If you want to try, can get the free biscuit...um... Jalan no 3

Both ladies will fold the biscuit before seasoning. Happy family jobs..

Chinese puppets show in Penang.

The Kim Giak Low Choon puppets show. The gong will start playing from  8:30PM to 12:00PM. Those photos took since 2009.
